PURPOSE:To execute initializing in a short time by generating an address signal which is selected simultaneously with the respective semiconductor storing circuits for storing a data and a redundant bit, and writing an initializing data and its redundant bit in all the semiconductor storing circuits. CONSTITUTION:In order to execute at a high speed the initializing which is executed immediately after a power source is turned on, an address generating circuit ADC is provided. An address selector AS selects an address signal from the address generating circuit ADC or the outside and supplies it to an address bus AB. In order to execute automatically the initializing at a high speed and, an initializing controlling circuit CONT is provided. When an initializing starting signal is supplied to the initializing controlling circuit CONT, the initializing controlling circuit CONT switches the address selector AS to the address signal generating circuit ADC side. Also, the initializing controlling circuit CONT generates an initializing data, and an error detecting and correcting circuit ECC receives this data and generates a redundant bit corresponding to this data.
