PURPOSE:To lower a coefficient of friction of a pen point and a glass surface, and to improve the high touch property by coating the pen point of an input pen in a handwriting input device, with an organic high polymer film. CONSTITUTION:A handwriting input device is constituted of a digitizer member 1 of an electromagnetic induction system, a glass plate 2, an input pen 3, and a power source 4 for making this pen 3 generate an alternating field, a sense coil 5, and a coordinate detecting device 6. In this case, a pen point of the input pen 3 is coated with an organic high polymer film 8. The film 8 by this coating is formed by applying that which is obtained by dissolving, for instance, a vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer in a solvent, and also dispersing a 'Teflon(R)' particle (a particle diameter is 0.1-15mum), to the pen point, and drying it. In this way, the hardness of the pen point also becomes lower than that of the glass plate 2, therefore, the pen point touches the glass plate 2 softely.
