PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a projection picture tube by filling a liquid containing silicone oil in the space surrounded by the face plate of the projection picture tube and a metallic plate and a transparent plate which are fixed to the front surface of the face plate so as to efficiently cool the projection tube by the liquid. CONSTITUTION:After a metallic plate 3 having a central window is fixed to the face plate 2 of a projection picture tube 1, a transparent plate 9 is fixed to the metallic plate 3 by the use of an adhesive 10. After that, silicone oil is filled in a sealed space 12 surrounded by the face plate 2, the metallic plate 3 and the transparent plate 9, thereby making a liquid-cooled projection picture tube device for a television picture projection device. By thus using silicone oil which easily causes convection, has a good thermal conductivity and minimally evaporates, the projection picture tube 1 is not broken even when it is made to emit light with great input electric power and high luminance. Consequently, it is possible to improve the reliability of the liquid-cooled projection picture tube device. |
