PURPOSE:To remove icing on the lower surface of a working platform by simple constitution where a heating element is provided around the opening of the lower surface of the working platform and a water jet device movable vertically and rotatable is projected through the opening. CONSTITUTION:An opening 5 is formed on the lower surface of the working platform of an oil drilling rig and the like and a sluice valve 10 is provided, together with a heating element 19, around the opening 5. A cylinder 12 is formed in the internal pipe-shaped structure 11 of the opening 5 and a piston 14 with a double pipe 13 is provided therein. A water jet device 17 having a water jet opening 20 is so provided on the double pipe 13 as to be free for rotation. After the romoval of icing around the opening 15 by the heating element 19, the sluice valve 10 is opened and the water jet device free for vertical motion and rotation is projected for removing effectively icing on the lower surface 2 of the working platform by applying the heat of sea water as jetted and its impact force. The overall system can be thereby simplified.
