PURPOSE:To enable a work piece to be automatically discriminated, by scanning a machined surface by a sensor and reading a pattern of the ruggedly machined or holed surface of the work piece to be compared with the preregistered pattern. CONSTITUTION:If a photoelectric switch 12 detects a work piece 20 being carried by a conveyer 11, the conveyer 11 stops. Simultaneously, motors 8, 9 rotate, and the work 20 is fixed in a manner it is caught from the both sides by moving a base 1 and work piece fixing metal fittings 10 in the central direction. If a limit switch 3 detects the work piece 20, a photoelectric switch 6, being actuated by a motor 2, scans a surface of the fixed work piece 20. Here the photoelectric switch 6, being turned on and off in accordance with a hole being provided or not, feeds a signal to a computer 13. While an encoder 4 repeats on-off operation at each time a shaft of the motor 2 turns at a fixed angle, and a position of the photoelectric switch is known by counting a number of times of the on-off operation. |
