PURPOSE:To obtain a color photographic material having high sensitivity by incorporating a chemically stable specified compound having a bonded residue of a color image forming coupler and releasing photographically useful groups at desirable speeds into a photosensitive silver halide material. CONSTITUTION:A compound represented by formula I (wherein A is a residue of a yellow, magenta or cyan color image forming coupler, CONT is a group controlling coupling speed, X is O or S, Z is an atomic group forming a 4-7-membered ring and a photographically acting group, and PUG is an atomic group contg. a hetero atom such as O, S or N and a photographically acting group), e.g., a compound represented by formula II is incorporated into the color photosensitive silver halide material to manufacture the color photographic sensitive material. Since this material contains the compound represented by the formula I, it has high MTF value at low frequency and superior sharpness. The material undergoes no hydrolysis with the lapse of time and has high stability and superior color reproducibility. |
