PURPOSE:To control a conveyor speed properly by computing an effective diameter based on the diameter of a round bar material and both a reference diameter and an inclination angle of a V-roller, and also computing a reference revolving speed of the roller so as to control the detected roller revolving speed in a V-roller conveyor speed control device for round bars and the like. CONSTITUTION:An effective conveying diameter Dm is computed based on the diameter of a round bar and both a reference diameter and in inclination angle of a V-roller, and its computed result is inputted into a speed reference arithmetic circuit 6. The arithmetic circuit 6 then computes the revolving speed Ns of the V-roller against the set speed Vs based on the set speed Vs and the effective diameter D permitting its result to be inputted into a speed control circuit 8. The speed control circuit 8 compares the detected speed N which has been inputted, with the reference speed Ns so as to control the roller speed through a speed controller 9. This configuration enables the control of conveyor speed to be improved.
