The installation is a modular installation, each module comprising a tank (3) for the metal plating bath (4) topped with a treatment vat (2) which is itself surrounded by an overflow vat (7), a pump (6) transfers the bath (4) from the tank (3), of which the capacity is higher than that of the treatment vat (2) into the latter. When the vat (2) is full, it overflows and the bath in excess is collected by the vat (7) wherefrom it is returned via a conduit (8) to the tank (3). Thereby, the volume of the bath being larger than that of the vat (2), the bath degrades less rapidly and must be changed less frequently. A vibrating device (21) imparts to a basket (26) housed in the treatment vat (2) a vibratory motion which causes the parts being treated to move on a helical bottom (27) of the basket (26).
