PURPOSE:To attain easily the adjustment of an index pulse timing generation timing with simplified constitution by fixing index pulse generating elements on a substrate in the opposite position adjacent to a magnet mounted to the outside of a rotor rotationally driving a magnetic disk so as to make the element movable with the base plate. CONSTITUTION:The magnet 3 is provided to the end of the rotor 4 fixed to a rotary shaft of a motor and a window part 7 is provided to a part of a yoke 5. The magnet 3 is rotated with the rotor 4 and index pulses are generated in opposition to a hall element 2 provided to the base plate 1. The timing of the generation of index pulses can be easily adjusted by shifting the hall element 2 together with the base plate.
