PURPOSE:To detect properly a high brightness part or the like on an object by comparing outputs an image pickup means formed under the condition of different picture generation so as to discriminate the picture characteristic on an image pickup means. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup element 1d converts an incident light into a signal electric charge and the stored time of the signal charge is formed into an information signal by controlling a storage time control circuit 2 as a picture generation condition control and the signal is inputted to a known recording circuit 5 via an amplifier 3 and a process circuit 4. Storage time setting circuits 6, 7 setting respectively the 1st and 2nd storage time to the storage time control circuit 2 set the 2nd setting time to be 1/2 of the 1st setting time. A signal level from an S/H 9 and a double circuit 15 are compared and discriminated, a window comparator 18 as a discriminating means discriminating the picture characteristic such as the presence of a high brightness part in an object inputs a high level signal H and a low level signal L respectively to the storage time setting circuit 6 and an inverter 19. |
