PURPOSE:To make it possible to automatically adjust the perpendicularity of a wire electrode without being affected by the wire electrode by determining the amount of positioning difference between the central axes of guide holes of upper and lower guide bodies by the detection of detecting beams to adjust the perpendicularity of the wire electrode according to the differential amount. CONSTITUTION:The amount of the positioning difference between the central axes of guide holes 42 and 24 is determined from the positions of the detecting beams 46 and 28 generated from the light source 48 and 30 of upper and lower guide bodies 40 and 22 and detected by a detecting section 58. And the upper guide body 40 is shifted by the distance corresponding to the differential amount and continues such a movement until the detecting beams 46 and 28 are aligned with each other to adjust the perpendicularity of a wire electrode. Since a constitution is made in such a way that the amount of the positioning difference between the holes of the upper and lower guide bodies is, thus, determined by detecting the beams to adjust perpendicularity of the wire electrode, the amount of the positioning difference of the wire electrodes is always detected with accuracy without being affected by the wire electrodes, and the constitution is also effective in that a perpendicularity of the wire electrodes can be adjusted automatically and accurately. |
