PHOTOMAGNETIC RECORDING CARRIER

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a photomagnetic recording carrier by the constitution consisting in laminating a thin magnetic film and a protective layer consisting of a thin zirconium film via a dielectric layer on a transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:The thin magnetic film consisting of a rare earth transition metal and the protective film consisting of the thin zirconium film via the dielectric layer are laminated on the transparent substrate. The dielectric film prevents the decrease in the recording density which arises in the stage of forming directly the zirconium film on the magnetic film and is formed of an oxide film or nitride film having low thermal conductivity. The corrosion preventive effect and the function as the protective layer are provided by the zirconium film. The corrosion resistance is thus improved without decreasing the recording sensitivity.
