PURPOSE:To write or read the data when a correct action is confirmed by the confirming result by providing a checking area to check a writing and reading action at the data memory and confirming whether or not a reading action or a writing action are correctly executed. CONSTITUTION:An IC card 1 is inserted into a card inserting port of an IC card handling machine. Then, the IC card is electrically connected to a reading writing device by a connecting part 2. Thus, a CPU11 executes the guidance 'Input the code number.' by means of a CRT displaying device 13. In accordance with the guidance, a user inputs the code number by a keyboard 12. Next, a CPU3 reads test data from a test data reading area, checks whether or not the data are coincident with the test data stored beforehand in the internal memory, thereby judging whether or not the test data can be correctly read. When the test data are not correctly read, the CPU3 outputs to the CPU11 the signal that the correct reading action can not be executed. When the signal is supplied, the CPU11 informs the user that the correct reading action can not be executed. |
