To stabilise rock slopes, bank slopes, cliff edges, dunes, etc., first of all a mould-shell pattern is placed at a predetermined distance in front of the natural part to be protected. To form a negative shell, concrete is then poured into the hollow space. After the hardening, the reusable mould-shell pattern is removed and the negative shell is advanced at a predeterminable distance. A cast-stone mass corresponding to the natural appearance is poured into the resulting hollow space. After the hardening, the negative shell is removed and is put down, for example, in the shoreface for stabilising the base sand.
