A halogen incandescent lamp emitting coloured light whilst operating is provided with an interference filter transmitting coloured light 12 applied to the outer surface of the bulb 1. An absorption filter can be located between the interference filter 12 and the bulb. An alternative is a coloured absorption filter applied to the outside of the interference filter 12 or likewise this filter, applied to the outside. One embodiment of a lamp emitting yellow light is a lamp for vehicles of the H4 kind. <IMAGE>
