PURPOSE:To execute the setting operation of an editing area having a complicated shape easily by making each fine display element two-dimensionally arranged on a surface display means correspond to one or plural fine areas on a picture and energizing each fine display element of the surface display means in accordance with editing data on the picture. CONSTITUTION:When an electrostatic latent image is to be erased in an original image area for picture editing, a CPU80 writes a specified erase information in a memory of each display unit 110 corresponding to erase information in the many fine areas obtained by dividing a copy-enabled area into X and Y directions. Respective contents of the memory are made to correspond to visual information and two-dimensionally arranged and the prescribed erase area information is displayed. Then, the erase information is inputted to an eraser driver 77 to energize a prescribed area of an eraser 24 selectively. Consequently, the area can be checked after specification, and at the area setting of plural times, it is unnecessary to memorize the preceding area information, so that the operability can be improved. |
