A process and an apparatus for moistening and feeding hay to horses are specified, in which an optimal moistening of the hay and transfer of the moistened hay to feeding is possible. For this purpose, one or more hay balls are sliced, at least a part thereof is completely immersed in water directly prior to feeding, taken out of the water, freed from a part of the water by being allowed to drain and made ready for consumption as feed in a store in which the water can drain further. For simple execution of the process, prior to moistening the hay can be filled into a hay container, immersed with the aid of an immersion device in a water vessel, removed from the water with the aid of a lifting device and made ready in the hay container for feeding to the horses. |
