A filter insert for a liquid filter, in particular fuel line filters, is composed of a filter element (5) folded in a star shape fitting, on its inner circumference, against a support tube (10) furnished with recesses, and end discs (6, 7) made of plastic enclosing the filter element (5) at its top and bottom ends in a liquid-tight manner. The support tube (10) serving as a mount for the filter element (5) is bisected perpendicularly to its longitudinal axis and the components (8, 9) are moulded on in a one-piece manner to the end discs (6, 7). <IMAGE>
