In the case of an innovative pair of thinning scissors, tooth-like projections (6) are present on the corners of the toothed cutting blades (3) which corners are to rest against the pivot screw (5). The said projections (6) exhibit a slight chamfer on the side facing the other blade (2) of the scissors up to the level which would otherwise be reached by the cutting edge (7) of the blade. The tooth-like projections merge into the cutting edge at a slight angle, so that hair captured there is guided to the edge which rests tightly against the cutting edge (1) of the other blade. This makes cutting very efficient and there is no pulling or tugging during thinning. <IMAGE>
