COSMETIC PRODUCTS BASED ON ALKYL HYDROXYPROPYL-SUBSTITUTED CHITOSAN DERIVATIVES, NEW CHITOSAN DERIVATIVES AND PRODUCTION PROCESS

New alkyl-hydroxypropyl-chitosans having the formula (I), wherein (m = 0-0,6; n = 0,50-10; q = 0,5-4; p = 50-5,000; R<1> is acetyl; R<2> has the formula (II) or the formula (III); R<3> is C1-C6-alkyl), as well as the salts thereof with organic or inorganic acids. Process for producing chitosan derivatives having the formula (I) and cosmetic products for the hair or the skin, in particular products for hair-styling which contain said chitosan derivatives. Said alkyl-hydroxypropyl-chitosans are characterized by their good solubility in organic solvents and consequently may also be used in water-free hair sprays.
