The invention relates to a display board consisting of a glass plate with a frame and a light source. The light from the light source is guided via a face cross-section, e.g. via an edge surface of the glass plate, into the latter. The rear of the glass plate is covered with respect to the light surface, so that the glass plate itself remains dark, while signs or writing which are provided on the front of the glass plate appear bright. <IMAGE>
