PURPOSE:To produce easily a master model for a precise treat pattern, by putting together thin plates having the same shapes as the shapes of parts of a tread section, the parts being formed by slicing the tread section in parallel with or perpendicular to the equator of a tire. CONSTITUTION:Data on a three-dimensional model (three-dimensional solid model or surface model) 20 of a tire having a desired tread pattern are produced by a computer. The data are sectioned radially by a Boolean operation program or the like into a plurality of unit blocks. Based on these, the shapes of parts that are obtained by slicing the tire in parallel with or perpendicular to the equator thereof are determined, and thin plates corresponding to the shapes are prepared by punching. The thin plates are stuck together into a three- dimensional master model 31 and based on the model 31 a mold is produced. |
