The yellow halogen lamp for cars in accordance with the invention has a lamp bulb 1, the outer surface of which is coated with an interference filter 12 transmitting yellow light. The lamp has a light-absorbant covering 11, 14 at the two ends of the lamp bulb 1. The coverings 11, 14 are preferably located immediately on the surface of the lamp bulb 1 without interposition of the filter 12.
