<p>Apparatus capable of improving the tapering accuracy of a wire-cutting electric discharge processing machine. The passage data and the parameters required to carry out a tapering process are punched on the paper tape (PTP). The passage data read by a tape reader (TR) are decoded by a decoder (DEC), and applied to a register (REG). The parameters, which are required to carry out a tapering process, are decoded by the decoder, and applied to a corrective circuit (CPS). The corrective circuit (CPS) is adapted to correct the parameters on the basis of the sum (δ1+δ2) of a first amount (δ1) of deviation of the fulcrum of the wire electrode, which occurs due to the formation of a curved guide portion of a guide, and a second amount (δ2) of deviation of the wire electrode, which occurs due to the failure of the wire electrode in moving along the geometrical shape of the guide portion of the guide, and these compensated parameters are applied to a register (PAR). A processing unit (WCP) is adapted to control a tapering operation in a well known manner on the basis of the data memorized in the registers (REG, PAR).</p> |
