Electronic musical instrument

The electronic musical instrument contains a microcomputer (8) and a single sound memory (6, 7, 9) which is connected to the microcomputer and which is designed as a common memory for all voices. The sounds are generated by sequential read-out of the sound-memory data. The sound memory can be sub-divided into random-access memory areas (9) and preferably erasable, programmable memory areas (6, 7). The programmable memory areas (6, 7) are constructed as plug-in modules which are arranged on the front panel of the musical instrument and can be easily interchanged by the user. <IMAGE>
