The invention relates to radial shaft sealing rings by means of which a sealing location is sealed off with the same sealing intensity at all times over the entire extent of the sealing surface, even in the case of shaft eccentricity or shaft misalignment. The sealing or clamping element, which is designed, for example, as a profiled spring-loaded rubber ring, does not undergo constrained deformation in the event of radial movements of the shaft since it is not attached to the supporting housing, which is seated in the bore. To fix it axially in position, the spring-loaded rubber ring is, on the contrary, guided in a sealed manner and with the ability to slide radially between walls of the supporting housing. <IMAGE>
