PURPOSE:To activate a catalyst packed in a reactor by abrading the surface of the catalyst by blowing coarse particles with high pressure gas thereto to expose fresh catalyst surface. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of activating a catalyst in a reactor particularly, a denitration reactor without taking out the catalyst out of the reaction system, valves 7-10 are opened when the activity of the denitration catalyst 4 is deteriorated by the accumulation of poisonous substance, such as Na, K, etc., and coarse particles such as collected ash is fed from a hopper of an electric precipitator 2 and ejected through a pipe 5 and a soot blowing nozzle 6 using highs pressure gas from a line 14 to abrade the surface of the catalyst. By the simple method using coarse particles which is easily available such as flyash, the catalyst is activated. The post treatment is unnecessary because no aq. soln. is used. |
