<p>The time taken by a bobbin to effect one revolution is measured and the number of turns wound about the bobbin carrier hub (2, 2') is determined in relation to the diameter (Do) of the bobbin-carrier hub, the tape thickness and the revolution time. This value is recorded in a counter (10, 10') which from that instant increments or decrements one pulse per revolution of the tape according to the winding direction. The result of the counter is compared with a time table expressed in steps per minute and the result in minutes is displayed.</p> |
