In order to increase the effectiveness of shaping and punching presses, it is already known for the discharged workpieces to be guided via a reception part into a reception container. The reception part is controlled by the pressing stroke. Control of deflection devices known to date, however, takes up a lot of resources and such devices are prone to malfunction because of the multiplicity of articulations. The deflection device constructed according to the invention is composed solely of two articulation elements, the weight of the reception part being absorbed by fixedly arranged guides. As a result of this, the articulations of the articulation elements are relieved, so that their lives can be substantially increased. <IMAGE>
