PURPOSE:To make it possible to efficiently carry out generation and absorption of steam, to downsize the device, to simplify the same and to spare energies therefor by effectively using a porous material in a heat storage system. CONSTITUTION:A heat storage liquid 20 within a heat storage tank 550 is heated within a heat transfer tube 610. At a temperature TH the water content evaporates on the surface of a lyophobic porous material which is a vapor-liquid interface and is concentrated. The thus generated steam 30 passes through the holes of the lyophobic porous material 1,000 and is introduced into an air chamber 700 and also into an air chambers 710 within a medium tank 150 via a steam passage 400. The steam 30 which has entered into the air chamber 710 reaches a medium 15 through holes of the lyophobic porous material, and is absorbed and condensed by the medium 15. At the time of the absorption of the medium, the medium 15 generates heat by condensation heat but it is cooled in a heat transfer tube 210. On the other hand, the medium 15 which has absorbed steam is diluted and its concentration is lowered. Accordingly, thermal energy of the temperature TH is recovered as an evaporation latent heat of water, and it is converted (concentrated) into concentration energy of the heat storage liquid to store heat.
