PURPOSE:To obtain a health drink, by using a water leachate or alcohol extract powder of leaves consisting mainly of yerba mate as an active constituent. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 99.9-75.0wt% leaves of yerba mate with 0.1-25.0wt% at least one of tropical plants cocu, takekue and paraparai, tropical composite cepa caballo, tropical evergreen trees mil honbres and palo santo and perennial euphorbiaceous herb cassava is percolated with warm or hot water or extracted with an extractant, e.g. alcohol, dried and powdered to give the aimed health drink or powder thereof, which may be vacuum-packed and heat sterilized to give products. In the process, <=1% black tea present in the leaves of the yerba mate, etc., is leached to have effect on deodorization of smell peculiar to the crude drug, and another sweetener, etc., may be added thereto, as necessary.
