PURPOSE:To prevent increase in thickness of a wick by eliminating weft at a heat-resisting part and a suture part between the heat-resisting part and fuel suck-up part in such a manner that the two parts are jointed by mixed felt-like part and carbon and tar are not accumulated concentrically at the upper end of a wick by being dispersed at the heat-resisting part. CONSTITUTION:In a figure, a fuel suck-up part 11 composed of organic fiber yarn felt such as poly ester fiber etc. is jointed with a heat-resisting part 12 composed of inorganic fiber yarn felt such as alumina and silicon etc. by a mixed felt-like part 13 and a surface of the part 13 is covered by a reinforcing tape 14 spread onto the parts 11, 12. The mixed felt-like part 13 is so composed that the lower part of the inorganic fiber yarn felt part is almost put between the upper part of the organic fiber yarn felt part and therefore, the boundary part between the organic and inorganic parts is of felt-like by mixing of the organic and inorganic fibers and is not enabled to be separated.
