An electronic ballast for a fluorescent lamp comprises a full -bridge rectifier, a current limiting circuit having at least one reactor between an input filament(Ft1) and the rectifier, and a differential voltage supplying circuit(2) providing different voltages to each filament(Ft1, Ft2). It initiates the rapid start of the lamp and prevents ion polarization or oxidization of the filament caused by starting high voltage.
