PURPOSE:To easily correct the operating cycle of an air conditioner based on an output from a digital signal output circuit, by providing a cycle correcting means in a microcomputer (LSI) of an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:An operating cycle controlling device comprises a load detecting unit (LSI)1, a microcomputer (LSI)2, a digital signal output circuit 3 and a drive unit 4 to drive a compressor 5. Especially, the microcomputer (LSI)2 stores data of a plurality of operating cycles corresponding to loads and data of value to correct operating cycles, determines operating cycles based on signals from the load detecting unit 1, corrects the data of operating cycles corresponding to input ports by increasing or decreasing the data, and outputs corrected data of operating cycles to the drive unit 4. The cycle correcting value can be changed by changing output signals from the digital signal output circuit and by changing the input signals to ports 11 and 12. It can be taken place by a very simple way that the input ports are changed to either mode of pulling up or pulling down. In such a manner, the operating cycles can very easily be corrected.
