PURPOSE:To preclude the possibility of discrimination of a data as other data if a crosstalk or an intentional disturbance takes place by applying correlation between the mode name and an initial training signal so as to discriminate automatically the mode name. CONSTITUTION:A transmission line signal is demodulated by a frequency of a signal 109 sent from a reception station, a data signal is reproduced by a filter 32, distortion correction is attained by the initial training signal as the synthesis with a mode signal by an equalization identification device 33, the result is converted into a binary signal and outputted through a setting section 4. Then the setting section 4 applies correlation with an initial training reference signal group synthesized with the mode name having a possibility by reception and stored in advance by a correlation circuit 41 at each communication line.
