PURPOSE:To obtain a heat pipe of a preferable combination of water and iron, stainless steel and aluminum by disposing a hydrogen occluding alloy in a container of the heat radiation condensing part of the heat pipe. CONSTITUTION:When water is used as an operating liquid in the container 1 of the heat pipe, iron, stainless steel or aluminum is used as a metallic mate rial of the container. When methanol is used as the operating liquid, aluminum is used for the container 1. A hydrogen occluding alloy 4 is disposed at a posi tion within the container 1 of a radiation and condensing part 2 where the transfer of the operating liquid is not hindered. For the hydrogen occluding alloy 4, TiCO0.5Fe0.5, Mg2Cu, TiCO or the like, for example, is used. The kind of the hydrogen occluding alloy 4 is selected depending upon the temperature used by the heat pipe, within this temperature, the occluded hydrogen gas is prevented from dissociating. By forming the upper part of the container 1 into a flange 5 and disposing the hydrogen occluding ally 4 in this part, it is replaced or regenerated and rearranged by dissociating the hydrogen gas. |
