PURPOSE:To increase the overall processing speed of an inspecting device for recording medium by providing a container for the recording medium, a carrying device and an inspector for recording characteristics. CONSTITUTION:An arm unit 7 is moved down by a shift control mechanism 8 and a bar 15 of a sucking head 10 hooks a stopper 14. Then a floppy medium 3 drops onto a spindle 5a, and the prescribed electrical characteristics are inspected by a read/write control circuit part 12. Both a separator 4 and the inspected medium 3 which are held by the sucking head 10 of an 7c are removed in response to the inspection end signal end are stored into a storing pallet 6a. When the unit 7 is moved up, the medium 3 on the spindle 5a is sucked and held to moves up. While the head 10 of an arm 7a sucks the separator 4 and the medium 3 within a feed pallet 2 and moves up. Then the unit 7 is turned to move the arms 7a, 7b and 7c to the position of a floppy inspecting unit 5, a storing position C and a feed position A respectively.
