PURPOSE:To obtain a weld metal excellent in welding operability and low- temperature toughness by specifying the compounding rate of respective components for composing a fused flux used for submerged arc welding. CONSTITUTION:A fused flux for submerged arc welding contains by weight percent, 10-25% CaF2, 5-15% MgO, 25-40% SiO2, 5-20% Al2O3, 3-15% MnO, 0.5-6% TiO2, 0.5-5% Na2O and/or K2O, 0.1-1.0% B2O3, 0.2-1.5% FeO. And further, the condition of (CaO+CaF2+Mg)/(SiO2+MnO+ FeO)=0.75-1.40 is satisfied.
