摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To attain the stable control despite the variance of the waste time by always securing the loop gain increased up to a level near the limit of stability in response to the behavior of the changing waste time and maximizing the capacity of a control system. CONSTITUTION:The actual thickness of a member 1 to be rolled and sent from a roll stand 2 is measured by an output side thickness gauge 3. Then the output signal of this measurement is applied to a multiplier 44 of a monitor AGC4. The multiplier 44 gives the rolling speed signal detected by a speed generator 20 to a divider 41 as a denominator and uses the distance L between the stand 2 and the gauge 3 given from a constant setting unit 40a as a numerator to calculate the waste time. A combuting element 42 uses this wastetime to calculate an angle frequency omega of a point where the phase characteristics of the control system is reduced less than about -180 deg.. A computing element 43 uses the frequency omega to calculate a desired loop gain which is used to obtain the target gain margin of the prescribed control. This loop gain is delivered to the multiplier 44. Thus the AGC4 can always give the optimum gain accordant with a stable operating state to the loop via the multiplier 44.</p>
