STATIC MAGNETISM SURFACE ACOUSTIC WAVE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To constitute a circulator suitable for circuit integration by placing a magnetic pole of concentric shape to an ittrium iron garnesite (YIG) single crystal thin film so as to form an annular static magnetism surface acoustic wave path and providing three static magnetism surface wave transducers. CONSTITUTION:The concentric magnetic pole 6 is placed on a chip 20 where the YIG single crystal thin film is formed on a gadrium garnet single crystal substrate to form an annular static magnetism surface wave conducting path 21 in a YIG single crystal thin film face. The three transducers 11 exciting the static magnetism surface acoustic are arranged to the guide path 21 at an interval of 120 deg. and each transducer 11 is connected to an external circuit via a microstrip line 10. The adjacent transducers 11 are coupled via the static magnetism surface wave and act like the operation of a circulator. The circulator through the constitution above is formed with a very small size and suitable for circuit integration.
