MOTOR CONTROLLER FOR TRAVELING IN ELECTRIC RAILCAR

PURPOSE:To reduce the variable difference of a torque of a drive motor by shortening the period of ON or OFF of a traveling transistor before maximizing the torque. CONSTITUTION:A CPU16 outputs a chopper frequency control signal of a traveling transistor 6 to a programmable timer 18 in response to the depressing stroke of an accelerator pedal 12. When a power start switch 14 is turned ON in the state that the pedal 12 is fully depressed, the CPU16 outputs a pulse signal having a frequency higher than that of a pulse signal for the depressed stroke of the pedal 12 when the timer 18 produces an output to the transistor 6. When the prescribed time is elapsed, a relay 22 for driving a bypass contactor is controlled to be excited to bypass the transistor 6.
