PURPOSE:To extend applications and to attain accurate line connection by using a card storing an abbreviation number corresponding to a telephone number and a name, storing the telephone number and the name and collating the abbreviated number to be inputted with the name in a telephone set and applying automatic dialing to the result. CONSTITUTION:The card stores an abbreviated number 2, a telephone number 3 and a name 4. Then the titled device is operated according to the operation procedure of the user as shown in figure. The operation is implemented by using a card reader 14, a telephone number/name display device 15, a selection input device 16 and an automatic dial device 13 in a telephone set 1 to attain line connection to a recipient corresponding to the inputted abbreviated number without error. Since it is confirmed whether or not the abbreviated number corresponds to the opposite party depending on the content displayed on the telephone number/name display device 15, accurate line connection is attained.
