INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR FLOPPY RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To perform precise inspection over the entire surface of tracks by inspecting the tracks of a floppy recording medium and performing inspection again on the basis of a position which is at specific distance which is larger than distance corresponding to an uninspected area from an index hole. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head assembly 21a fitted to a head carriage 21 has head support arms 21b and 21c and three heads 22-24 each for both surfaces of a floppy medium 3, i.e. six heads are provided stop of the arms. Those magnetic heads 22-24 inspect respective tracks which are assigned successively on the basis of the index hole 3c of a center core 3d. Then, when the final track is inspected completely, the same track is inspected again on the basis of a position which is at specific distance larger than the distance L corresponding to the unstored area S of the floppy medium from the index hole 3c while the head carriage 21 is moved back.
