PURPOSE:To measure the position of the optical axis of a head lamp through simple operation by picking up selectively an image of a light distribution pattern of uniform illuminance in a light distribution pattern on a screen. CONSTITUTION:The screen 32 on which a light image is projected with illumination light from the head lamp 30 is installed movably on an inspection line for a vehicle. Further, a camera 42, a controller 44, etc., are provided. Then, a lens stop 54 is adjusted to select and pick up an image of the pattern 52 of uniform illuminance in the light distribution pattern 52. Therefore, the optical axis of the lamp 30 is measured on the basis of a composite video signal obtained by the image pickup operation of one camera 42 to inspect the optical axis of the lamp 30, so the inspection is carried out accurately through simple operation and with simple constitution. |
