PURPOSE:To prevent a noise caused by the operation of a drive mechanism from giving to an electric circuit section by arranging a handset in the longitudinal direction to one side of left and right directions of a main body case so that the direction of hand-carrying is made in the longitudinal direction and arranging the drive mechanism to the opposite side of the main body case arranged with the handset along with the longitudinal direction of the main body case. CONSTITUTION:When a reception key 18b is depressed, an opposite party sends an original and its signal is received, then solenoids 40, 63 are energized at the same time. A platen 39 is projected toward a print head 38 by energizing the solenoid 40 at first and print paper 46 is engaged to a print head 38. Further, the gears of the drive mechanism are meshed together by energizing the solenoid 63 and a motor 32 is coupled to a recording paper feeding roller 42. Thus, the recording paper 46 is carried at every line at the return of a carrier 31 and the print head 38 applies recording at the same time. Then the recording paper 46 recorded and carried is sent toward the user from a recording paper carrier outlet 45.
