PURPOSE:To obtain an image having high quality by calibrating the saturation level and linearity of a receiving part of a radar device to be mounted to a platform. CONSTITUTION:The transmission part 17 amplifies a signal up to a prescribed level and feeds the signal to a change-over machine 13. A controller 16 outputs a command to select whether a transmission signal is outputted or a calibration signal is outputted to the machine 13 and outputs a command to permit setting of the attenuation level of an analog attenuator 14 to a D/A converter 15. On the other hand, the calibration signal which is the output signal from the attenuator 14 is fed to a transmission-reception change-over device 11. The device 11 branches the transmission signal and the calibration signal as well as the reception signal from an antenna. The receiving part 12 amplifies the output signal (reception signal and calibration signal) from the device 11. The calibration signal to change the input level of the receiving part is thus inputted to said part to measure (calibrate) the saturation level and linearity of the receiving part and to utilize the calibration data in the stage of image processing on the ground, by which the image having the high quality is obtd.
