PURPOSE:To prepare a stable coating liquid free of flocculation of a high molecular weight latex and provide a color developer sheet for heat-sensitive recording having excellent color developing property and light resistance, by a method wherein carbonate ions are added to a color developer coating liquid for pressure-sensitive recording comprising an organic color developer, an inorganic pigment and a high molecular weight latex, and the coating liquid thus obtained is applied to a base. CONSTITUTION:Carbonate ions (CO3<2->) are added to the color developer coating liquid for pressure-sensitive recording comprising an organic color developer, an inorganic pigment, a high molecular weight latex and a water-soluble high molecular weight compound, and the resultant coating liquid is applied to a base. A compound for generating carbonate ions is preferably potassium carbon ate or sodium carbonate, and the amount thereof is preferably 0.5-5wt% based on the amount of solid components of the latex. The color developer is prefer ably an aromatic carboxylic acid, a metallic salt thereof or a phenolic resin. The pigment may be, for example, an oxide, hydroxide or carbonate of a polyva lent metal such as magnesium and aluminum. |
