PURPOSE:To provide smooth, high speed feeding by keeping pressures of a plurality of static pressure pocket groups, to be formed at the time of engagement of a worm with a rack, uniform so as not to include air in a supply hole provided to the cogged face of worm in its non-engagement part. CONSTITUTION:A rack 100 is fixed to the fixed side bed, and a driver device to support a worm 30 is placed on the moving side table. The static pressure oil supplies the working oil to a static pressure pocket of the rack 100 from the supply hole of worm 30 to support the worm 30 and rack 100 by static pressure, and auxiliary oil is discharged from distributor 10 to the cogged face of worm in its non-engagement parts on the left and right. A circular arc formed groove is provided for supply of pressure oil to the static pressure pocket and exhaust of the residual air. Thereby the land part is free from pressure rise and stagnation of residual air at the time of engagement to assure smooth feeding. |
