PURPOSE:To supply stably an image of good quality by supplying toner from a toner separate supplying means by a quantity corresponding to consumption in each range detected by a toner consumption detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A toner amount detection sensor is constituted by arraying plural photosensors at right angles to a form conveyance direction, and a light beam from a light emitting element is reflected by an original and detected as reflected light by a photodetecting element, thereby detecting whether there is an image or not from whether the reflected light is detected or not. When a form on which the image is copied is conveyed from a fixing roller as shown by an arrow B, the toner amount sensor 3 reads the image as a pattern. Detection results of the image pattern are summed up in the form conveyance direction and the toner supply device 5 supplies toner by deficiency for a range of high image density, i.e. large toner consumption. At this time, a solenoid in the toner supply device 5 at the side of a toner supply shaft 18 is turned on and the driving force of a motor 10 is transmitted to a driving-side coupling joint to rotate the toner supply shaft 18. |
