<p>There is provided an apparatus for compressing household refuse which, in its main features, consists of a bag of fibre-reinforced plastic (2) which is connected sealingly to a ring (1) and which can be closed sealingly by means of a cover (3). The bag (2) is lined with a conventional refuse bag (11). The waste introduced into the apparatus can be exposed to atmospheric pressure by the suction extraction of the air by means of a pump (4), and it is thereby compressed. The apparatus reduces the frequency of the unpleasant job of collecting refuse or exchanging the refuse bag (11). The apparatus additionally reduces the nuisance caused by smells, is of simple design and is reliable to operate.</p> |
